OCR Simplified
About Me
Hello! My name is Joel Pelley and in 2015 I fell in love with the sport of Obstacle Course Racing (OCR), renewing my passion for health and fitness. In that year, I ran my first OCR at a Spartan Sprint in Washougal, Washington (just north of Portland, Oregon) and became hooked.
In that year I ended up completing my first Spartan Trifecta (a Sprint, Super and Beast race in 1 calendar year). I also learned a great deal about the sport, the community and how I would have to train my body to become better at OCR. Since then, I have completed 6 OCRs with another Trifecta in 2016 and 6 in 2017 with my third straight Trifecta season. I am looking to finish 2017 with a double Trifecta.

OCR is the fastest growing sport in the world, or so they say. For me, it is a motivator to continuously improve on what I can accomplish physically and mentally, both on and off the course. I hope to share what I have learned along my journey here to help others benefit from that learning to simplify their entrance into the world of Obstacle Course Racing.

Obstacle course racing can take you to some amazing places, but there is no place like home in the Pacific Northwest.
